Clients and Industries

During his career, Tom has represented companies, institutions, executives, managers and licensed professionals. His clients have come from an array of industries, including the health care, pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech, high-tech, aerospace-defense, and financial services industries.

Practice Areas and Experience

Tom has represented clients in all phases of civil and criminal litigation, including civil and criminal discovery, trial preparations, trials, post-convictions litigation, sentencing and appeals.

In business litigation matters, he has dealt with issues pertinent to contract disputes, employment claims, professional malpractice, and other complex matters. Outside of the courtroom, he has also conducted sensitive investigations into suspected employee misconduct that could present both civil and criminal penalties.

His work in defense of government enforcement actions has been focused to a large degree on the health care and pharmaceutical industries, but he has represented clients in financial services matters as well. He has tackled cases involving allegations or investigations of fraud, false claims, and securities violations.

He then was appointed as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Boston U.S. Attorney's Office, investigating and prosecuting suspected health care fraud. He also served as a law clerk to the Hon. James C. Cacheris of the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia prior to returning to private practice with Collora LLP.
