Clients and Industries

While Azure has worked on matters for many clients in a variety of industries, she has most often participated in the representation of companies, executives, and licensed professionals associated with financial services, investment banking, securities trading and pharmaceutical industries.

Practice Areas and Experience

As a litigation associate, Azure has represented individuals and entities in all phases of civil and criminal litigation and defense of government enforcement actions, including agency investigations, civil and criminal discovery, trial preparations, trials, post-conviction litigation, sentencing, and appeals.

In business litigation matters, she has dealt with claims involving contract disputes, fraud, Chapter 93A, misappropriation of trade secrets and sophisticated financial matters. She has also dealt with employment-related matters involving allegations of gender discrimination, age discrimination, hostile work environment, breach of non-compete or non-solicitation agreements, and Family Medical Leave Act violations.

In government enforcement matters, she has tackled issues relating to suspected or alleged wire fraud, government contract fraud, off-label marketing of pharmaceuticals, tax evasion and public corruption. Azure has also represented doctors and other medical professionals involved in disciplinary proceedings before the Board of Registration in Medicine.

Professional Experience Outside of Collora LLP

Prior to joining Collora LLP, in 2008, Azure served as a law clerk for the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court. During law school, she also held internships with the civil division of the U.S. Attorney's Office and the Committee for Public Counsel Services, as well as participating in the Criminal Advocacy Clinic at Northeastern School of Law.

Sample of Results in Practice *

• Obtained downward departure from sentencing guidelines on behalf of former securities broker.
• Part of team that successfully represented psychiatrist in proceeding to block a government subpoena of more than 20 patient files, establishing before the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, in a case of first impression, that the psychiatrist’s work in pain management was covered by the psychotherapist-patient privilege, and that the privilege cannot be pierced except by legislative enactment or constitutional imperative.
• Successfully represented plaintiff in arbitration involving contract claim resulting in substantial arbitration award.
• Successfully represented former state employee in a hostile work environment claim, settling the case to the client’s satisfaction prior to any trial proceedings.
• Successfully represented financial service entities suspected of state securities law violations resulting in favorable settlement with the Massachusetts Securities Division.

About Azure

Azure is accustomed to the intense practice and preparation associated with law, having practiced for thousands of hours to attain a performance art degree in violin. She started playing at age 3, appeared in Carnegie Hall with her youth string ensemble at age 7, and played in front of the Pope with the same ensemble at age 10. She loves to travel now, having caught the travel bug from her performances throughout Western Europe, Russia, China, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan.
