Attorneys Robert L. Peabody and Julia W. Monack Join Collora LLP
BOSTON (October 11, 2011) – Boston-based Collora LLP has added two attorneys to the firm. Bob Peabody has joined the firm as counsel and Julia Monack has been named an associate.
Prior to joining Collora LLP, Mr. Peabody was with Nystrom, Beckman & Paris. Previous to that, he had a distinguished 15 year career as criminal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts from 1997 through 2004 and, before that, with the Middlesex and Suffolk’s District Attorney’s Offices.
During his tenure as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Mr. Peabody was a senior prosecutor in the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) prosecuting cases ranging from high profile racketeering and murder to organized crime/drug conspiracy and money laundering matters. As a state and federal prosecutor, Mr. Peabody tried more than 60 jury trials in District Court, Superior Court and U.S. District Court, and argued a number of cases before the First Circuit Court of Appeals.
Prior to joining Collora LLP, Ms. Monack was an associate at Ropes & Gray LLP. She focuses her practice in the areas of white collar criminal defense and business litigation.
Mr. Peabody is a 1977 graduate of Harvard College and a 1983 graduate of Boston College School of Law. He is also a member of the state bars of Massachusetts and New York and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the U. S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Ms. Monack is a 2003 graduate of Connecticut College and a 2007, magna cum laude graduate of Boston College Law School. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and will be sworn in to the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts this month.
